About This Center

The California Pest Management Center (CPMC) is part of the Western Integrated Pest Management Center, one of four centers in a national network established to strengthen the U.S. Department of Agriculture's connection with production agriculture, research and extension programs, and agricultural stakeholders throughout the United States. The CPMC is located in the Department of Environmental Toxicology, University of California, Davis.

Purpose:

  • participates in the Western Integrated Pest Management Center by establishing a statewide stakeholder advisory committee (which serves as an integral component of the regional information network)
  • participates in the identification of agroecological regions in the West
  • identifies the need for and participates in the development of Crop Profiles and Pest Management Strategic Plans for commodities grown in California
  • serves as a pool of experts to review technical documents
  • disseminates information concerning Food Quality Protection Act (FQPA) issues to California agricultural stakeholders, and
  • coordinates the review of technical documents as requested by USDA
